We have a great archaeological and mystical visit to the Pachacamac Citadel, which was the main sanctuary of the central coast for over 1200 years. Its temples were visited by crowds of pilgrims during the great Andean rituals. Pachacamac was a reliable oracle that intervened in the lives of the powerful by predicting the future and controlling the movements of the earth.
Finally, you will be able to appreciate the most complete gold exhibition of Peru, at the Gold Museum, this private collection of gold pieces from various pre-Columbian cultures, some pieces over 2,000 years old.
Itinerary
Pachacamac City
The tour begins with a panoramic view of the Pucllana Pyramid, built in the 4th century AD and considered a “sacred town” by the Incas.
Pachacamac Oracle
Next, we will enjoy a guided visit to the magnificent Pachacamac Citadel, the sanctuary of the God Pachacamac, the creator of the universe for the ancient Andean peoples. The citadel includes temples, pyramids, and palaces, with the Sun Temple, Pachacamac Temple, and Acllahuasi or Palace of the Virgins of the Sun standing out. The entire place was considered sacred and part of the mystical axis of the world.
Gold Museum
We will visit the Gold Museum of Peru, where we can admire the masterful work of the ancient Peruvians in goldsmithing. They were specialists in repoussé, lamination, engraving, welding, and alloying gold, mainly in pre-Inca pieces.
Return to your Hotel
After a full day of activities and visits to various sites, our transportation will take you back to your hotel.
Note: * The museum’s opening hours are Monday to Sunday from 10:30 am to 6:00 pm.
