We have a great and unforgettable visit to the city of Pachacámac, which was the main sanctuary on the central coast for over 1200 years. Its temples were visited by crowds of pilgrims during the great Andean rituals. Pachacámac was a renowned oracle that intervened in the lives of the powerful by predicting the future and controlling the movements of the earth.
On the other hand, we will visit the Hacienda Mamacona, where we can appreciate in its fullest expression the Peruvian Paso Horse, a breed that is internationally recognized and established.
The Paso horse, like all horse breeds around the world, has many characteristics that distinguish it from others. However, the most notable and famous characteristic, from which it gets its name, is its way of walking, “the Paso.”
Itinerary
Start of the Tour to Barranco
At 09:50, we begin the tour by visiting Barranco, one of the smallest but most charismatic districts, known for being Lima’s bohemian zone. During the tour, you will appreciate its Plaza, the Bridge of Sighs, the Chabuca Granda Monument, the Hermitage, and the famous Bajada de Baños. This district, full of history and art, is one of the most iconic places in the city.
Tour of Chorrillos
We will continue to Chorrillos, a district with a fascinating history. Its name comes from the freshwater springs that flowed from the cliffs to the Agua Dulce beach. This picturesque fishing village was officially named San Pedro de los Chorrillos. During the tour, we will learn more about its traditions and its connection with the sea.
Visit to Pachacamac
Next, we will head to Pachacamac, the most important sanctuary on the Peruvian coast during the pre-Hispanic period. For more than twelve hundred years, it was considered a place of great prestige, famous for its oracle consulted by curacas and lords from all over ancient Peru. In this visit, we will explore the temples of Pachacamac, which reflect the historical importance of this site, especially the figure of God Pachacamac, known for his power over the earth.
